The one I’d never have

There has been  a person for whom I have  had tremendous love and admiration, when I got to know this fellow there was this instant connection but things didn't get off very well as expected. As we got to know each other better over time, great bizarre sociocultural connections, similar tastes in music art etc  emerged and my adoration grew like weeds in garden of roses.

UntitledAs time swept by, uncaring and cold, there were these rumours on and off,as we often stumbled upon mutual friends they were always inquisitive about us being up to something fishy or having some relationship. It was always very funny and at the same time flattering to even get to know of these seemingly naive linkups.I never thought I would say this but whenever I was in need in help ,this connection has  not only  provided me  a virtual sense of comfort but also a provided emotional security and support because they are times when you don’t need that childhood friend who knows everything, rather what you need is that empathetic ear yet one that needs not know all.

Now as this friend is set to leave the stage of my ever dramatic life,I am sitting here in front of  PC ,typing away as I try to mitigate my  impending doom.I really don’t know how would I carry on.Its almost strange that when you get to know there is little  time left you suddenly become aware of this possible void that might occur when this person leaves you and the life as you knew it. For me this person would be the one I never had and hopefully the connection that I have would be the one I would never lose.

Like the Katy Perry song ‘The one that got away’

Talk about our future like we had a clue
Never planned that one day I'd be losing you
In another life, I would be your girl
We'd keep all our promises
Be "us" against the world
In another life, I would make you stay
So I don't have to say
You were the one that got away
The one that got away
All this money can't buy me a time machine (no)
Can't replace you with a million rings (no-o-o-o)
I should have told you what you meant to me (woah-oh-oh-oh)
Cause now I pay the price
